(1b.) How will you convince your reader that this larger purpose is worthwhile? Why is it important to achieve and think about? This will provide the justification for your paper and help convince the reader that this is a useful endeavor and that they should be interested in reading.
(2.) What are you going to argue, claim or show/reveal to your reader? That is, what is your thesis or position? Your thesis will be what all your remaining paragraphs work to support. Your thesis may start in one place and end in another (i.e., as you work through the evidence and develop your evidence in your paper, it is normal for it to evolve).
Read through the ANA Advocacy Policy’s web pages. Look at issues at a federal, state, or local level for which the ANA is advocating change or new policies. Which one are you most eager to see enacted? Why does it interest you? How will passage of such legislation affect you or your patients?
Write a research paper, about the major theories of ethics, either deontology or utilitarianism, and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses.
