After reading the piece and in light of what we have discussed in other sessions of Arab Nationalism, discuss the following statement: ‘
Despite its historical limited success, and its failure to tackle the current Gulf crisis and the blockade on Qatar, the GCC (the Gulf Cooperation Council) remains the best available political arrangement for the Gulf states in terms of balancing their state-nationalism and their regional and wider political aspirations.’
