When – if ever – and how should expert authorities have the power to infringe on our liberties provided by the US Constitution?

Expert opinion is obviously always invaluable to leaders faced with making difficult decisions. In times of a global pandemic, this point is even more apparent. However, “experts” are not “right” because they say so. In our representative democracy, authority is subordinate to liberty – if there is any doubt here, please read the Constitution.
