investigating whether the phylogeny of the pathogen or the host can affect the evolution of virulence, as there has been little to no previous research in determining how virulence varies between host species. I do this by determining whether virulence displays a phylogenetic signal in the host phylogeny or the pathogenic phylogeny and see if the host phylogenies are more likely to show a phylogenetic signal for virulence than pathogenic phylogenies are or vice versa.
