Most people think of present day as the Age of Computers. Or Space. Or Electronics. But, that′s only for humans… I would argue that we are actually in the Microbial Age. They pre-date us and will most likely outlive us. What do you think? Or do you think there′s a different Age (not named) that we are in? Be sure you support your opinion. 2) You′ve all heard of cyanide, right? It′s a potentially deadly chemical (C is triple bonded to N) that can be found in gas or crystal form. Once it is in the body, it has an effect on cellular respiration. Cyanide binds to a ferric ion within the mitochondria, thus blocking the reduction of oxygen to water. In turn, what effects do you think this would have on aerobic respiration? And why in the world do you think this has any application to bacteria?
