Film has become a part of American culture, incorporating every aspect of life onto the big screen. However misguided or misinterpreted the reality surrounding the film, historical events and times are not exempt from Hollywood’s reach. There have been many great, and many more not so great, movies made about different aspects of American history. For extra credit, the assignment will be to view a film depicting American history, review the film and analyze whether the film is historically accurate and if it’s not, describe the actual events. In other words, don’t just tell me the movie got it wrong, tell me about what actually happened.
