Look ahead into the future 50 – 75 years. Will the world still be politically organized into nation-states? Why or why not? If not, what will most likely replace the existing structures? What are the biggest challenges facing the nation-state model today? As you look at the world today, identify powerful groups that influence our world and politics, but are not nation-states. (ISIS and the United Nations are good examples – which you can’t use!) How are these groups more driven by ideology than nation-state? Finally, identify your own political ideology and describe how it fits within the current nation-state model.
