These Reflections Discussions are sometimes open-ended, for your thoughts or questions, and sometimes about the course content.
My thoughts this week have to do with the pervasive role of social media as an active (and interactive) component of the business. Consider how social media are best used in business, how, and why.
We are all ‘experts’ in personal uses of social media, and we see how social media are being used politically and internationally. That said, our emphasis during the course has to be on using social media well and effectively for business purposes.
I also think about the increasing impact of social media’s role in personal display and politics. These uses are not necessarily appropriate for business.

Part 3 ) per chapter 1,2 of the attached book:
1. Summarize three ways (that you didn’t know about before) that a smartphone can be an important business tool.
2. What is a Project Charter? What is Scope Creep? Where do they occur?
3. From chapter 2.2, summarize the different types of information systems used in businesses.
4. Consider the transcendent role of Data found throughout our readings. What would happen to UPS (and Amazon/Bezos) if contemporary IT/business systems were not available, or didn’t work as well as they do? What would the result look like to the user/customer? What would happen to current professional sports and teams?
