Determine educational program characteristics to consider when choosing
a. Choose a nurse with a master's or doctoral degree to interview.
The nurse you choose can be an advanced practice registered nurse or can
have a graduate degree in a specialty area in nursing or another field. The
nurse must hold a position in health care.
b. Interview the nurse.
Questions to ask during your interview include:
i. What degrees do you have in nursing and in other fields?
ii. What is your current position?
iii. What are the educational requirements for your position?
iv. What program characteristics did you consider when researching
possible graduate programs?
What graduate degrees did you consider?
vi. What influenced your decision to obtain the graduate degree you
did?
vii. Are you considering further education? If so, what degrees are you
considering and why?
