as for the cover letter, it needs to be specific for the position you are applying to. How did you hear about the position? What position are you applying to, why do you want to work there? What skills/experience do you have that will make you a good candidate for the position. Relate back to the job description. Always let them know you are interested in being considered for an interview and thank them for their consideration.
