What causes teens to be so heavily involved in social media ?Discuss

What causes teens to be so heavily involved in social media ? Social media has been developing rapidly and has been especially popular amongst many people who have used it for educational purposes and/or a means of entertainment. Parents over the years have grown to the idea that their children may be actively on social media but many parents lack the knowledge of what might be going on in the media world, or can’t keep up to know what their children are involved in when it comes to the media. The main reason for teens to be on social media have been to keep up with current events and stay up to date with online content, most people talk to friends and family, a lot of them try to meet new people out there, but many of these teens also go on social media just out of plain boredom, or a sign of addiction.
