Thus far in HIST 1376, we have investigated a variety of European explorations into a North American continent filled with a variety of Indigenous peoples. Specifically, we discussed early European explorations and settlements of Spanish, French, and English colonizers. Although each of these European empires settled in North America for different reasons, they all dramatically changed Native North America and the Indigenous communities/peoples they encountered. In your opinion, which of these European colonizing empires (Spanish, French, or English) caused the greatest disruption to the indigenous communities they encountered/interacted with and why? While the bulk of your paper will develop an argument and provide the evidence that supports why one European empire caused greater disruptions than the other two, your paper should also briefly explain why each of these three European empires wanted to explore and settle North America.
