Create a timeline of events using the Youtube timings, when answering the following questions. Try to relate your observations to what we’ve learned about sonata form: Is there a slow introduction? If so, when does the Allegro begin? When is the entry of the second theme? When does the exposition end? Does the performance repeat the exposition? When does the development section begin? Are there any particularly dramatic moments? When does the Coda begin? Does Beethoven use mostly material from theme one or them two in the exposition or both equally? What is the overall feeling of the piece? How does the feeling compare/contrast with the first movement of the 5th symphony? What personal feelings/images are conjured in your imagination as a listener?
