Discuss about Habermas (Special Interest) & Politics and style & The sinister side of the public sphere.

Habermas was concerned about the role of special interest groups in shaping public opinion. He described this as the “refeudalization” of the public sphere. Drawing on material from the weeks of Mar 4 (activism + social movements) and Mar 18 (lobbying), explain how special interest groups are affecting the contemporary public sphere. hroughout this course we have seen how political communication is as much about style(how messages are framed) as it is about content(ie. the substance of particular campaigns). Drawing on material from the weeks of Feb 25 (campaigns) and Mar 11 (populism), explain the role of style in communicating political messages.
