Read Koehn et. al′s Earnest H. Shackelton case study by HBR and write an essay reflecting a synthesis of an analysis of the potential worldview (will want to utilize Cosgrove, pp 30-32, which is within the table section within chapter 2) and cultural-historical context influence (Wren & Bedeian′s chapter 1) that influenced Shackelton′s leadership style, behavior, actions, decisions, etc. during the Endurance Expedition. To accomplish this project it will be important to explore: the ways in which Shackelton led others, how his worldview and historical-cultural background might have influenced his leadership, what might have been learned about leadership given this analysis, and how these results conflict or agrees with your ideas of good or successful leadership needed for organizations.
