Explain the different types of victimization, and how to prevent victimization.

Victimology Extra Credit Assignment (SOC/CRJ 236) The study of victimology is a relatively new endeavor. Starting in the 1940s, victimologists began studying how victim behavior could contribute to their victimization. The study of victimology evolved over time, and beginning in the 1940s, the focus of victimology shifted to victims’ rights, how victims were treated in the criminal justice system, and how society responds to and treats victims. In this course, you learned about the victims’ rights movement, the theory and history behind this movement, different types of victimization, and how to prevent victimization.
