Describe the concept of usability and how it relates to the design of a system’s user interface. Relate the five interface design principles, which are common for navigation design, input design, and output design. Discuss how you might use these principles in reviewing the functionality of an existing clinical documentation system. 2. Describe the five components of the interface design process and how an analyst would use this process to identify improvements and or make changes to the interface design? Discuss the navigation component of interface design; menus are the most commonly used navigation control, compare and contrast four types of menus. What are the basic principles and types of navigation controls? Cite an example of bad navigation design in a clinical system and discuss a course of action how to correct the issue. 3. Discuss the three principles of data input and how they might improve the quality of information captured by the system. Outputs provide access the information the system produces, discuss ways to produce output from a system and include an example of when each output type might be used.
