In recent years charter schools have become established and accepted, but not without controversy. U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, stated, “The charter movement is one of the most profound changes in American education- bringing new options to underserved communities and introducing competition and innovation into the education system.”
What impact has the influx of charter schools had on “traditional” public education in your state and/or local district (Miami Dade County District)? Do you agree with the concept of charter schools? Why or why not?
