How have our class themes led you to reflect on your own community and problems that you or other members of your community face? Identify one current or recent social issue and analyze it as a social problem (how was it brought to the public’s attention, how has the media contributed to public awareness of the issue, who are the various claims makers and what are their claims and/or counter-claims, have any policies been enacted in response to the issue, what are responses to policies, etc.).
