Thread Prompt: Watch the TEDtalk video of Simon Sinek found in the Module/Week 5 Reading & Study folder. Often we get caught up in the busyness of life. The number of assignments we need to complete; the task list at work; the event we’re planning for the weekend; the list of things to do around the house. How often do we stop and think about the “why” behind what we’re doing? Is what we’re doing connected to a greater mission or greater cause? Throughout this course we’re learning about how to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The documents themselves aren’t important—the idea and information they communicate is important. After watching the video of Simon Sinek, talking about visionaries like Martin Luther King Jr. and the Wright Brothers, think about yourself as a visionary leader. How can you inspire action and help answer the question “why?” Discuss what a vision of yours is, how you use the tools in this course to help you inspire others, and communicate “why” that something should happen.
