Assume that your EBP project has led to a decision to implement a practice change. Choose one of the implementation models listed in the intro for module 11- WHICH I PICKED “THE STETLER MODEL OF EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE.” And discussed in the video lecture (You will need to research these four models closely before choosing). Your choice should be based on the type of intervention, the potential clinical setting, and other factors like feasibility, cost, etc.
You will use your systematic review and the implementation model of your choice to create a mini EBP practice change in an imaginary healthcare facility. This can be a hospital, physician’s clinic, long-term care home, etc. Using the steps of the model you chose AND the questions below, create a power point presentation.
1. Why is the practice change needed?
2. Does your systematic review demonstrate support for a practice change?
3. What population will be served by the change? (age, gender, location)
4. Who are the other stakeholders (nurses, management, systems, organizations, staff, etc) that may be affected by the change?
5. What resources will be needed to implement the project?
6. Create a timeline for implementation. Include any training for staff or other disciplines. Include when you will start the project, how long you will let the change remain in place before you begin looking at outcomes, and when you will begin to measure how the change affected patient outcomes. Include any other key items you feel are pertinent to the implementation.
7. How will you measure patient outcomes? Who will do this? For how long?
8. What are you looking for to determine if the project was successful? What will you do if you do not get the outcome you were hoping for?
9. How will you disseminate your project results to others?
