However, Germany had a successful transition to democracy and there has not been any serious threat to German democracy within the past seven decades. What factors prevented Germany, in spite of its rapid industrialization and economic prosperity, to establish a consolidated democracy before the end of the Second World War? Also what factors contributed to significant political stability in the country unlike some other European nations such as Italy.
