iolence in social science literature takes different forms (eg. induced processes of dispossession, exploitation, poverty, discrimination). In this sense, instability (threats to elite power and the prevalent system) could be seen as a response to those forms of violence that have been perpetuated through the post-colonial system of elite democracy that you describe. There is a danger otherwise that some would think you are identifying ‘instability’ as the problem, whereas from what you discuss it becomes clear that it is other forms of post-colonial violence that have led to threats of different kinds to the prevalent system.
