As you begin this project exploration of social change, you will benefit greatly from your colleagues’ points of view on how social change is created and the social change agents who inspire them.
Throughout the Shared Activities in this module, you will work with your colleagues to share definitions of social change, and resources that inspire and inform creating social change.
To prepare for this Shared Activity:

• Review all media and reading resources and consider the information you would like to provide to enhance your colleagues’ and your own understanding of and appreciation for creating social change.
• Select and begin reading a biography, autobiography or memoir of a role model you admire who worked or is working to create positive social change – Please note: Your chosen role model should be someone that you are willing and able to critique candidly – highlighting both positive and negative elements. Your classmates will also be given the opportunity to comment on and critique your chosen role model in a following discussion.
• Review the Shared Activity Rubric.
To complete this Shared Activity project:
Write a 500-word post, including the following topics:
• Research-Based Definitions of Social Change: Share definitions of social change based on credible resources. Be sure to cite your sources.
• Social Change Role Models: Include profiles of positive social change agents you admire. Also include sources where colleagues can read about, view and/or listen to these role models.
• Social Change Resources: Recommend videos, biographies and articles from credible sources on positive social change and social change agents.
• Definition of Advocacy: Critically analyse the knowledge you have gained about advocacy and begin to formulate your definition of advocacy. what advocacy means and the suggested definitions of social change
