Is race still a social construct in 2018, or are we still defined by it?

Being confined to a race, socially, culturally and now politically is normal in our everyday lives but genomics tell a different story. Is race still a social construct in 2018, or are we still defined by it? Did the findings of the human genome project make any difference to how we view ourselves, how others view us and how economic, political and medical decisions are made about us.
