The community council of the city of New Lonaviv is trying to deal with the problem of youth crime in the city. The past year has seen an increase in levels of vandalism, violence, alcohol use and general misconduct by young people. In particular, a large wave of immigrants five years ago and difficulties which the city had in absorbing the immigrants, has also contributed to crime levels, with larger numbers of immigrant youth involved in criminal activities and significant levels of negative attitudes toward the immigrants from the city residents.
Your assignment is to write a paper of up to 2 pages outlining an intervention program for the city. Your program should include:
1) An understanding of what processes could be causing the levels of immigrant crime and what theories could be used to explain it.
2) A program aimed at lowering crime levels, which could be on the individual, communal and school levels.
